Job summary

Work Mantra Pty is seeking a reliable Steward to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in our kitchen and dining areas. You will collaborate with the kitchen team to assist with dishwashing, food prep, and general cleanliness to support smooth culinary operations.

Ideal candidates have basic kitchen knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, is required.

Qualifications

• Previous steward/dishwasher experience preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of kitchen operations and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Physical stamina to lift and stand for extended periods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and proactive approach to cleanliness.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing: operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes and utensils and sanitize items.
• Kitchen support: assist in food preparation tasks and keep workstations clean.
• Cleaning and sanitization: regularly clean surfaces, floors, and equipment.
• Waste management: dispose of waste and monitor recycling in designated bins.
• Inventory control: monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages.
• Safety compliance: handle chemicals safely and report hazards.
• Team collaboration: work with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth operation.
• General maintenance: perform minor upkeep and equipment checks.
