Job summary

Crowne Plaza Adelaide invites applications for a Kitchen Steward to support our busy kitchen operations. You will help maintain clean, safe work areas and assist chefs with basic prep, storage and waste handling, ensuring high standards of hygiene and efficiency in a hotel setting.

This role requires physical fitness, teamwork and a positive attitude, with opportunities to grow within our IHG portfolio and benefit from hotel staff perks and career development.

The secret ingredient in every single dish served in our restaurant is a pinch of hard work behind the scenes. We're looking for a Kitchen Steward to help our chefs make every dish memorable by setting and maintaining exceptional standards in our kitchens.

Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:

• Cleaning and sterilising countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills, sinks and cooking equipment
• Maintaining food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
• Receiving and organising deliveries to the kitchen
• Supporting the chefs and other kitchen staff in basic food preparation, cutting, peeling, and washing
• Removing kitchen waste and washing dirty dishes

What we need from you:

• A passion for delivering great service
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Previous experience in a hotel environment beneficial
• Experience working as part of a team and working to deadlines
• It's a physical role and you'll be on your feet most of the day, so attention to safe manual handling is a must; including occasional lifting/push/pull of heavy items and you may need to bend and kneel to complete some activities
• High standard of cleanliness and safety at work
• The flexibility to work across a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays
• Compliance - must hold a Food Safety Certificate
• Meet the legal requirement to work in Australia without limitations or restrictions
