The Comiskey Group is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Hand / Prep Assistant to join The Imperial Hotel in Eumundi, Queensland. This full-time role supports our culinary team with high standards of food prep while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

You will help with washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, plating dishes, and assisting with deliveries. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency during busy periods, and strong teamwork with kitchen staff.

Responsabilidades

The Comiskey Group is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Kitchen Hand / Prep Assistant to join our team at The Imperial Hotel in Eumundi, Queensland. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in keeping our kitchen operations running smoothly and efficiently. As a Kitchen Hand / Prep Assistant, you will support our culinary team by ensuring food is prepared to the highest standards whilst maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment. Your contribution directly impacts the quality of service and experience we provide to our guests, making this a fundamental role within our hospitality operation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare fresh produce and ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen, including regular cleaning of work surfaces, equipment and floors
• Assist with food storage and stock rotation to ensure ingredients remain fresh and safe for use
• Load, operate and unload dishwashing equipment to ensure plates, utensils and cookware are clean and available for service
• Support the cooking team by plating dishes and assembling ingredients as directed
• Monitor and maintain appropriate temperature standards for food storage and preparation areas
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of food and kitchen supplies
• Follow food safety and hygiene protocols at all times to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely service
