Job summary

West HQ in Sydney is seeking reliable Kitchen Hands/Kitchen Stewards to support busy kitchen operations and help keep everything running smoothly. You will operate wash-up areas, manage clean crockery and utensils, and assist with opening/closing cleaning procedures as part of a fast-paced team.

We're looking for someone with prior kitchen hands experience, a good grasp of food hygiene and safety, and a positive, proactive attitude.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in kitchen support roles is desirable.
• Understanding of basic food safety and workplace health procedures.
• Ability to work well in a busy kitchen and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate wash-up areas and maintain a steady supply of clean crockery, cutlery, and utensils.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, benches, and work areas.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain clean kitchen floors and safe workspaces.
• Remove rubbish and dispose of waste properly.
• Assist with opening and closing cleaning procedures.

The Day to Day

As part of our kitchen team, your responsibilities willinclude:

• Operating wash-up areas and ensuring a constant supply of cleancrockery, cutlery, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, benches and workareas
• Sweeping and mopping floors and maintaining clean and safekitchen areas
• Removing rubbish and disposing of waste correctly
• Assisting with opening and closing cleaning procedures
• Ensuring cleaning chemicals and equipment are used and storedsafely
• Following food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safetyprocedures
• Reporting hazards, damaged equipment or maintenance concerns toyour manager
• Supporting the wider kitchen team as required

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Hand/ Kitchen Steward orsimilar role is desirable
• An understanding of food hygiene and workplace safetyrequirements
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and Safety Data Sheets is anadvantage
• Good organisational and time-management skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to support the kitchenteam
• Availability across seven days, including mornings, evenings,overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays
