Bankstown Sports, one of Sydney’s leading hospitality and entertainment groups, is hiring Kitchen Hands to support our Events & Functions team behind the scenes. Multiple casual positions are available, offering hands-on hospitality experience and opportunities to grow your career with us.

As a Kitchen Hand you’ll help keep kitchens clean, assist chefs, pack orders, and support the team during busy functions and events. No prior experience is required, just a positive attitude and reliability.

Qualifications

• No years of experience required; right attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Flexibility to work across casual roster including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Keep kitchen and working areas clean, organised and ready for service.
• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation.
• Pack orders and assist with product labelling.
• Operate packaging equipment as required.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained.
• Work closely with chefs and the wider kitchen team.
• Support the team before, during and after events and functions.

Our Events & Functions team delivers everything from corporate events and celebrations to large-scale functions, and we’re looking for enthusiastic Kitchen Hands to join the team behind the scenes.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Hand within our Events & Functions team, you’ll play an important part in keeping our kitchens running smoothly and supporting our chefs during busy functions and events.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Keeping kitchen and working areas clean, organised and ready for service
• Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Assisting chefs with basic food and meal preparation
• Packing orders and assisting with product labelling
• Operating packaging equipment as required
• Ensuring equipment is cleaned and maintained
• Working closely with chefs and the wider kitchen team
• Supporting the team before, during and after events and functions

About You

You don’t need to have years of experience. We’re looking for people with the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.

You’ll ideally have:

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Great communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment
• A reliable and hands-on approach
• Good presentation and attention to cleanliness
• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is advantageous, but not essential
• Flexibility to work across a casual roster including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Full working rights in Australia
