Job summary

Aegis St Michael’s, recently acquired by Aegis Aged Care Group in North Perth, is seeking a Hospitality and Housekeeping team member. The role focuses on cleanliness, hygiene, and safe food preparation to support residents’ health and wellbeing.

You will assist with preparation and serving of meals, follow infection control procedures, and maintain a clean kitchen while working with the Cook/Chef Manager and care team in a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in healthcare.
• Experience in food preparation and cooking for large numbers of people.
• Knowledge of food safety practices.
• Australian work rights and ability to pass national police clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility.
• Follow infection control procedures and safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Assist with preparation and serving of resident meals.

Recently acquired by the Aegis Aged Care Group, Aegis St Michael’s is located close to North Perth’s vibrant café and shopping district. It is situated on a quiet suburban street surrounded by heritage residential dwellings.

Aegis St Michael’s is a bright and spacious residence with particular attention being given to the shared outdoor and indoor living spaces. It is an open community being made up of a culturally diverse population including many from Italian and Macedonian backgrounds.

Rooms are a mixture of private single with ensuite or a shared double room with ensuite. All rooms feature modern furnishings and 24 hour nursing care.

Your work will directly contribute to the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of our residents, all within a supportive and friendly team environment.

Your day will include:

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility.

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of resident meals in accordance with dietary and care plans.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Ensuring correct food handling and food safety practices are always followed.
• Working collaboratively with the Cook/Chef Manager and the wider care team.

We're looking for someone who:

• Enjoys working with and supporting older people.
• Has excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness and food safety.
• Can work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Is flexible and available to work a variety of weekday and weekend shifts.

You should possess the following:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).
• Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
• A knowledge of food safety.
• Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
