Job summary

Eureka Villages in Hervey Bay is seeking a Kitchen Hand to support our Chef and village team in providing nutritious, home-style meals while keeping a clean, safe kitchen for residents.

This permanent part-time role offers 25 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday, at $28.87 per hour plus super. You will assist with meal preparation, dishwashing, cleaning and safe storage of food, while engaging positively with residents and following food safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen, hospitality or cleaning environments is desirable.
• Understand food hygiene and safe food handling.
• Reliable, organised and able to follow procedures and instructions.
• Willing to obtain Food Handling Certificate if not already held.
• Able to work Sunday to Thursday roster.

Job description

We're looking for a Kitchen Hand to join our team at our Hervey Bay village. Supporting our Chef and broader village team, you'll play an important role in helping us provide nutritious, home-style meals while maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming kitchen environment for our residents. Reporting to the Village Manager and working closely with the Chef and village team, you'll help keep our kitchen running smoothly and safely.

• Assisting the Chef with meal preparation and service
• Washing dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Cleaning and sanitising food preparation and dining areas
• Supporting the safe storage, labelling and rotation of food
• Following food safety, WHS and chemical handling procedures
• Engaging positively and respectfully with residents and contributing to a welcoming village environment

About the Candidate

• Have previous experience in a kitchen, hospitality or cleaning environment, although this is desirable rather than essential
• Understand the importance of food hygiene, safe food handling and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Are reliable, organised and comfortable following procedures and instructions
• Enjoy working as part of a team and interacting respectfully with residents
• Hold a Food Handling Certificate, or are willing to obtain one
• Can reliably work the required Sunday to Thursday roster

Work Environment

• $28.87 per hour + super | Permanent Part-Time | Sunday to Thursday, 25 hours per week
