Casual position | $33.05 per hour, plus applicable penalty rates
Located within the Capital Square precinct above Elizabeth Quay, our Sky Lounge offers breathtaking 360° views of Perth's city skyline and the Swan River, creating one of the city's most exciting dining destinations.
As we prepare to open, we are seeking reliable and hardworking Kitchen Attendants (Stewards) to join our founding back-of-house team and help bring this exceptional venue to life.
About the Role
Reporting to the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie, you will support the kitchen team by maintaining clean, safe and well-organised kitchen, stewarding and storage areas.
This hands-on role is essential to the smooth operation of the kitchen. You will assist with dishwashing, cleaning, waste management, basic food preparation and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pre-opening kitchen setup, training and operational readiness.
- Wash, clean and store crockery, cutlery, glassware, kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen, stewarding, storage and waste areas.
- Assist with rubbish removal, recycling and waste separation.
- Support chefs with basic food preparation, as directed.
- Assist with receiving, storing and rotating kitchen supplies.
- Ensure equipment, chemicals and cleaning products are used and stored safely.
- Report maintenance issues, breakages, hazards and safety concerns promptly.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, WHS and operational procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during busy service periods.
The Successful Candidate Will Possess
- Previous Kitchen Attendant, Steward or commercial kitchen experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene, cleaning and safe work practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to safely carry out manual handling and standing duties throughout a shift.
- A reliable, positive and hands-on approach.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Current Food Handler certificate is highly regarded.
