Job summary

Peppers Beach Club & Spa in Palm Cove is seeking a Kitchen Attendant to help keep the kitchen spotless and support dining experiences across hotel services.

Join a diverse team in a fast-paced resort environment with morning, evening and weekend shifts. Some kitchen cleaning or operation experience is a plus, and a positive, can-do attitude is essential for our guest-focused service ethos.

Qualifications

• Having practical experience in kitchen operations or cleaning is a plus.
• Have an enthusiastic "can-do" attitude and a positive and motivated demeanour.
• You thrive working within a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible availability to accommodate various shifts, including mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hygiene by cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware and kitchen equipment using dishwashers and manual cleaning.
• Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors.
• Disinfect and clean, ensuring the proper sequence of chemical usage.
• Provide support to the kitchen team, including basic food preparation, grating, peeling, chopping, and batter preparation.

Peppers Beach Club & Spa, located in the idyllic beachside destination of Palm Cove, just 30 minutes north of Cairns in Far North Queensland, is a perfect blend of plantation charm and beach chic. The resort offers a variety of accommodations, ranging from hotel rooms to one, two, and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses. Purpose

As a Kitchen Attendant, your role is pivotal in maintaining the sparkle of our kitchen. Your main responsibilities involve upholding cleanliness, including dishware, utensils, and workspaces, all while strictly adhering to hygiene standards. You are an integral part of the kitchen brigade, collaborating seamlessly to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our valued guests.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain impeccable hygiene while cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware, and other kitchen equipment, using both commercial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods
• Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors
• Disinfect and clean, ensuring the proper sequence of chemical usage
• Provide valuable support to our kitchen team, including various tasks such as basic food preparation, grating, peeling, chopping, and preparing batters, garnishes, and seasonings.
