Norths Leagues & Services Club in Queensland is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join our award-winning culinary team. You will help prepare and deliver high-quality meals while upholding food safety and presentation standards.

You'll work across diverse menus, support stock control, and collaborate with front-of-house and kitchen colleagues to maintain a professional, positive kitchen culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality or kitchen environments.

About the Role

As our Chef, you will play a key role in preparing and delivering high-quality meals while maintaining exceptional food safety and presentation standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and cooking menu items.
  • Ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Managing food preparation, stock rotation, and portion control.
  • Supporting food cost and waste management initiatives.
  • Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
  • Assisting with stock ordering and inventory management.

About the You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Previous experience as a Chef or a similar hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
  • A passion for producing quality food and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and food presentation.
  • A positive attitude and team-focused approach.
Essential Requirements
  • Relevant trade qualification in Commercial Cookery.
  • Food Safety knowledge and understanding of HACCP principles.
  • Availability to work a rotating roster including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
