Job summary

Qualifications

• Employment Working with Children Check.
• Certificate III in a related field.
• Previous school-based experience will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted classroom support for nominated students under the direction of classroom teachers and the Head of Learning Strategies.
• Adapt learning experiences at the point of need to support student participation and engagement.
• Prepare learning materials and resources under the guidance of teachers.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to ensure consistency in teaching strategies, student management and individual support approaches.
• Contribute as an active member of year level and learning support teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation relating to student learning and behaviour.
• Support the development and implementation of Individual Learning Plans where required.
• Collaborate with teachers to enhance and enrich learning programs for supported students.
• Attend and contribute to Learning Assistant meetings and professional discussions.
• Maintain positive, respectful and professional communication with members of the school community.
• Participate in professional learning and seek opportunities for ongoing development.
