Job summary

Camberwell Grammar School in Canterbury NSW is seeking a casual Learning Assistant to join the Junior School. You will work under the guidance of classroom and special education teachers, supporting targeted boys with additional needs, individually or in small groups.

This term-time role starts in Term 1, 2027, with a minimum of two days per week and flexibility to cover staff absences. A friendly, collaborative educational environment and opportunities for professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in School Based Education Support (desirable)
• Working with Children Check
• National Crime Check
• Asthma and Anaphylaxis training certification

Responsibilities

• Assisting student learning under the direction of a teacher with individuals or small groups
• Providing supervision in classrooms and playgrounds during recess and lunch
• Monitoring classroom groups during tasks while teachers work with students
• Collaborating with Head of Learning Enhancement, teachers and staff to support students with additional needs
• Encouraging positive social interaction among peers
• Using initiative to help students manage and complete tasks
• Accompanying students on camps and excursions
• Attending professional development sessions for strategies and accommodations
