Job summary

Caulfield Grammar School’s Shelford Campus, opening in 2027, seeks an Educational Assistant to support student learning and help establish a high‑quality learning environment. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Campus, you will work under classroom teachers to assist with engaging teaching programs and documentation across various learning settings.

You will collaborate with teachers, prepare learning materials, and help communicate student progress while upholding Child Safety.

Qualifications

  • Current Working with Children Check is required.
  • Certificate III in a related field is required.
  • Previous school-based experience is highly regarded.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach to work.
  • Self-motivated with initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Proficiency in digital technology.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in a variety of learning environments under guidance of classroom teachers.
  • Assist year level teams as an active and collaborative member of the learning community.
  • Prepare classroom materials and resources to support teaching and learning programs.
  • Maintain relevant documentation and records relating to student learning and behaviour.
  • Communicate observations of student learning and progress with teachers as appropriate.
  • Prepare and upload classroom communications.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to promote effective teaching strategies and student engagement.
  • Support individual students and small groups to access and participate in learning programs.
  • Assist with the delivery of broader curriculum experiences, including year level events, incursions and excursions.
  • Attend Educational Assistant meetings and contribute positively to team collaboration.
  • Participate in professional learning and development opportunities as directed by the School.
  • Uphold the School's commitment to Child Safety, ensuring wellbeing, safety and dignity of all students.

ShelfordCampus

Opening in 2027 in the heart ofCaulfield, Shelford Campus will be the newest Junior School ofCaulfield Grammar School. The campus will initially offerexceptional education for students in Prep and Years 4–6, beforeprogressively growing into a full Prep to Year 6 Junior School.This represents a once‑in‑a‑career opportunity for a founding teamto shape the culture and community from the ground up, deliveringhigh‑impact learning in purpose‑builtfacilities.

TheRole

This is an exciting opportunity tosupport student learning and contribute to the establishment of anexceptional learning environment at our new ShelfordCampus.

Reporting to the Deputy Head ofCampus, the Educational Assistants will provide effectiveday-to-day classroom support that enhances student learning andhelps deliver engaging and well-organised teaching programs.Working under the direction of classroom teachers, you will supportstudents across a variety of learning settings while contributingto a collaborative and inclusive learningenvironment.

You will work closely with teachersand year level teams to support student engagement, preparelearning materials, maintain classroom documentation, and assistwith communication initiatives. Through your proactive andprofessional approach, you will help ensure students are supportedto achieve their best outcomes.

Multiple part-time, term-timeopportunities are available, commencing2027.

KeyResponsibilities:
