Job summary

Bonjour Patisserie in North Turramurra and Wahroonga is seeking a Junior or Apprentice Baker/Pastry Cook for a casual role with a view to full-time. You will learn under experienced bakers, producing artisanal breads and pastries with a strong emphasis on quality and consistency.

The role requires enthusiasm for baking, reliability, and the ability to work early mornings in a fast-paced bakery. On-the-job training and opportunities for progression are provided in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a genuine passion for baking.
• Willingness to learn traditional and contemporary techniques.
• Recently completed a nationally recognized Baking and Pastry course or have at least 1 year experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, mixing and kneading dough and batter using traditional and modern equipment.
• Assisting in the production of pastries, cakes, breads and other baked goods according to recipes and quality standards.
• Shaping, decorating and finishing pastries and baked items under supervision.
• Monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure products are cooked to perfection.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the bakery, including proper food handling and storage practices.
• Assisting with stock control and identifying when ingredients need replenishment.
• Supporting the bakery team with early morning shifts to ensure fresh products are ready for opening.
• Following health, safety and food safety regulations at all times.
• Learning new techniques and developing skills in pastry work, bread making and cake decoration

Junior or Apprentice Baker / Pastry Cook

Bonjour Patisserie is seeking a Junior or Apprentice Baker / Pastry Cook to join our talented team in North Turramurra and Wahroonga, NSW. This is a Casual position with an opportunity to become Full Time. You will work under the guidance of experienced bakers and pastry chefs, learning techniques whilst contributing to the production of high-quality baked goods and pastries. This role is central to our mission of delivering exceptional artisanal products to our customers, and you will play a vital part in maintaining our reputation for excellence.

Key responsibilities

Preparing, mixing and kneading dough and batter using both traditional and modern baking equipment

Assisting in the production of pastries, cakes, breads and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards

Shaping, decorating and finishing pastries and baked items under supervision.

Monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure products are cooked to perfection.

Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the bakery, including proper food handling and storage practices
