Job summary

Ready Bake Pty Ltd is seeking a Qualified Baker / Pastry Chef to join our team in Virginia, QLD 4014. This full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality pastries, maintaining food safety, and supporting production schedules in an afternoon-evening shift.

You will prepare and bake a wide range of pastry items, operate ovens and pastry equipment, and mentor junior staff while ensuring product quality and cost control.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification or apprenticeship in baking or pastry making recognised in Australia.
• Proven 2–3 years in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen.
• Expertise in producing a wide range of pastry items.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP principles.
• Excellent time management and ability to meet production schedules.
• Attention to detail with commitment to consistent quality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, mix and bake a variety of pastry items according to established recipes and quality standards.

• Uphold quality standards to ensure product integrity.

Ready Bake Pty Ltd is seeking a Qualified Baker / Pastry Chef to join our team in Virginia, QLD 4014. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality baked goods and pastries to our customers. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for creating exceptional products that meet our exacting standards whilst maintaining food safety and hygiene protocols. This role is primarily an afternoon to evening shift which is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the baking industry.

Key responsibilities

Prepare, mix and bake a variety of pastry items according to established recipes and quality standards

Operate baking and pastry manufacturing equipment including ovens, mixers, pastry sheeters and other specialist machinery

Uphold quality standards to ensure product integrity

Weigh and portion ingredients accurately to maintain consistency and control costs

Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times

Manage stock rotation and ensure ingredients are stored correctly

What we're looking for

Formal qualification or apprenticeship in baking or pastry making recognised in Australia

Proven experience of at least 2-3 years working in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen environment

Expertise in producing a wide range of pastry items

Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP principles

Excellent time management and ability to work to strict production schedules

Attention to detail with a commitment to consistent quality standards

Physical capability to perform manual tasks including lifting, standing and working in production environments

Team player mentality with good communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of current baking trends and willingness to learn new techniques is desirable
