Job summary

SunDrive is seeking a Junior Mechatronics Engineer to join our team for a fixed‑term 6‑month contract. You will work with experienced engineers on hardware/software subsystems, contribute to lab and production system improvements in our Kurnell facility, and gain hands‑on experience across design, prototyping, testing and commissioning.

You should have a Bachelor’s in Mechatronics, a hands‑on mindset, and an interest in embedded systems, electronics, software and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or related engineering discipline.
• Hands‑on approach to problem solving across hardware and software.
• Interest in developing skills across embedded systems, electronics, software and automation.
• Willingness to learn and get hands‑on, with internships/projects as bonus.

Responsibilities

• Work on a hardware/software-based subsystem, building responsibility as you gain experience across design, prototyping, testing and commissioning.
• Contribute to development and improvement of lab and production systems in Kurnell, gaining hands‑on experience in real‑world R&D.
• Be curious and proactive, comfortable taking initiative while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Travel opportunities may arise to support deployment and commissioning of SunDrive technology.
