Job summary

Burland Contractors is seeking an office-based role combining estimating and contract/project administration. You will work with the Senior Estimator and project team on reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents, and assist with price take-offs and quotations.

The role requires strong numerical skills, proficiency with Excel, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a busy landscape and construction environment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills.
• Confidence using Excel and computer systems.

• The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• An understanding of construction and how projects are priced and delivered.
• The ability to read construction drawings, or the willingness to learn.
• Experience in landscaping, civil or commercial construction would be highly regarded.
• Experience with estimating or construction management software would be highly regarded, but is not essential

Responsibilities

• Reviewing construction drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Completing quantity take-offs from landscape and construction drawings
• Assisting with the preparation of project estimates and quotations
• Sending requests for pricing to suppliers and subcontractors
• Comparing and recording supplier quotations
• Maintaining current supplier, material and subcontractor pricing
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of our estimating price book
• Preparing tender documentation, inclusions, exclusions and supporting information
• Setting up and maintaining project and tender records
• Maintaining contracts, variations and other commercial project documentation

About the role
