Job summary

RMS Manufacturing, located in Melbourne, is seeking a Junior Draftsperson to begin or advance a career in electrical drafting and design. You will work with experienced teams, receive on-the-job training, and help prepare drawings for customer approval and manufacturing.

The role focuses on learning electrical switchboard design, AS/NZS standards, and collaborating across drafting, estimating and production teams in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge or experience using AutoCAD.
• Qualification, certificate or studies in drafting, engineering, electrical or related field, or genuine interest in developing a career in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of electrical schematics and general arrangement drawings.
• Create and update drawings using AutoCAD.
• Make drawing revisions in line with customer and production requirements.
• Learn the design and construction requirements of electrical switchboards.
• Work closely with drafting, estimating and production teams.
• Assist with preparing accurate drawings for customer approval and manufacturing.
• Develop understanding of Australian Standards AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 61439.
• Ensure drawings and documentation are completed accurately within required timeframes.

About the Role

As a Junior Draftsperson, you will work alongside our experienced drafting and production teams, receiving guidance and on-the-job training while developing your technical knowledge and drafting skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of electrical schematics and general arrangement drawings.
• Creating and updating drawings using AutoCAD.
• Making drawing revisions in accordance with customer and production requirements.
• Learning the design and construction requirements of electrical switchboards.
• Working closely with our drafting, estimating and production teams.
• Assisting with preparing accurate drawings for customer approval and manufacturing.
• Developing an understanding of relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 61439.
• Ensuring drawings and documentation are completed accurately and within required timeframes.

About You
