Job summary

Airswift is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer/Drafter to join our Brisbane team on a permanent basis. You will develop practical electrical designs for commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects across Queensland, producing detailed drawings and documentation from concept through to completion.

This role requires strong AutoCAD and BIM skills, familiarity with Revit and Navisworks, and the ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Electrical drafting experience in construction or building services.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and installation methods.
• Experience using BIM tools and standard design software for drafting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify electrical designs to support project delivery requirements.
• Prepare high-quality construction and installation drawings using AutoCAD and associated design software.
• Create and maintain accurate project documentation throughout the design and delivery phases.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant and buildable.
• Assist with design development, technical reviews and project planning activities.
• Coordinate drawing revisions and maintain document control processes.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure project requirements are achieved.
• Provide technical drafting support across multiple concurrent projects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and drafting practices.

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Electrical Designer / Drafter to join a well-established electrical contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects across Queensland. Working closely with project delivery and engineering teams, you'll play a key role in developing practical electrical design solutions, producing detailed project documentation and supporting projects from initial concept through to completion. This position offers exposure to a broad range of projects, modern design technologies and a collaborative team environment where your technical expertise will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• Electrical trade qualification or relevant electrical design experience.
• Previous experience within electrical construction, engineering or building services environments.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work across multiple projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate documentation.
• Experience working in commercial, industrial, utilities or infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
