Job summary

Homes and Granny Flats in Western Sydney is seeking a Junior Accounts Payable Officer to join our fast-moving construction finance team. You will gain hands-on experience across accounts payable, job costing, contracts, variations and month-end processes while supporting project teams and suppliers.

Ideal candidates are starting out in accounting or finance, with 1–2 years’ experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel and cloud accounting systems.

• Highly organised and pays close attention to detail
• Confident using Excel and accounting systems
• A good communicator who is comfortable dealing with suppliers and subcontractors

Responsibilities

• Processing and managing Accounts Payable
• Reviewing supplier and subcontractor invoices and reconciliations
• Checking invoices against approved contracts and variations
• Allocating expenses and invoices to the correct HGF jobs
• Entering and maintaining job budgets in Xero and Buildertrend
• Assisting with supplier, subcontractor and day-labour claims
• Preparing payment vouchers and collating invoices for approval
• Assisting with month-end accruals and journal entries
• Maintaining accurate invoice, payment and financial records
• Assisting with supplier account applications
• Supporting payroll tax and other monthly statutory requirements
• Assisting with Accounts Receivable invoicing and collections when needed
• Helping maintain accurate contract and job-costing information

We’re looking for a Junior Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone with some accounts experience who is looking to develop their skills in a fast-moving construction environment.

You’ll work closely with suppliers, subcontractors, project teams and the finance team, gaining valuable experience across accounts payable, job costing, contracts, variations and month-end processes.

About the role
