Job summary

MACCARONI TRATTORIA and MACCARONI on BOURKE in Melbourne is seeking a CHEF to join our growing team. This permanent, full-time role requires 38–40 hours weekly, with weekend shifts.

You will prepare and cook Italian dishes, supervise kitchen staff, ensure food safety, manage stock, and train apprentices. Must have Certificate IV in commercial cookery and 2–3 years Italian cuisine experience. Salary is 75,000–80,000 AUD per year plus Super.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in commercial cookery is required.
• 2–3 years’ experience in Italian cuisine, focusing on pasta.
• Must be able to work on weekends and rotating roster.
• Working rights for Australia required.

Responsibilities

• Cook high quality Italian dishes according to menu and recipes.
• Train kitchen staff and apprentices as directed by the chef in charge.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of all kitchen and storage areas.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and cost control measures.
• Receive and account for supplies and deliveries and assist with stock takes.
