Job summary

Shred-X is seeking an ITAD Technician to join our operations team in Queensland. You will handle secure processing, refurbishment, recycling, and resale of IT assets, working across ITAD, e-waste processing, and data destruction to meet customer, environmental, and compliance requirements.

You’ll test, refurbish, and configure IT equipment, securely erase data, manage inventory in ERP systems, and assist with on-site destruction when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in IT, e-waste, ITAD, warehousing, logistics, electronics, or a similar operational environment.
• Understanding of IT asset processing, testing, data erasure, refurbishment, sorting, or dismantling.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Experience using ERP, inventory, or warehouse management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow processes.
• Professional, reliable, and customer-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process incoming IT and e-waste assets, including weighing, labelling, recording and maintaining accurate asset and inventory records in the relevant ERP systems.
• Dismantle e-waste for downstream recycling in accordance with processing requirements, identify assets and items of value for resale purposes.
• Test, diagnose, refurbish and configure IT equipment, including computers, mobile devices, servers and networking equipment.
• Securely erase data, audit equipment, recover reusable components, and prepare quality equipment for resale through ecommerce sales.
• Safely prepare batteries and other hazardous materials for downstream recycling.
• Operate small battery-powered and compressed air tools, shredders, pallet jacks, trolleys, forklifts, and other equipment where trained and licensed.
• Utilise a small Pantech truck to perform on-site destruction for clients when required.
• Assisting with loading and unloading vehicles and ensuring jobs are processed within monthly timeframes.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines IT proficiency with a strong work ethic and a hands‑on approach.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous experience in IT, e‑waste, ITAD, warehousing, logistics, electronics, or a similar operational environment.
• An understanding of IT asset processing, testing, data erasure, refurbishment, sorting, or dismantling.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Experience using ERP, inventory, or warehouse management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow processes.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and meet productivity targets.
• A commitment to workplace health, safety, environmental responsibility, and compliance.
• A professional, reliable, and customer‑focused attitude.

A forklift licence or relevant industry certifications will be highly regarded but not essential.
