Job summary

Central Highlands Regional Council (CHRC) invites applications for an IT trainee based in Emerald, Queensland. The role offers full-time, 24-month maximum-term employment and hands-on training while pursuing a Certificate III in Information Technology.

You will support CHRC’s ICT team, learn hardware, software, and cybersecurity basics, and contribute to a professional workplace. Successful applicants will have a positive attitude, basic computer skills, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old and not currently at school.
• Willing to undertake a traineeship and meet eligibility criteria.
• Desire to complete a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in IT).

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level ICT support to CHRC staff.
• Assist with setup, deployment and maintenance of hardware, software and devices.
• Learn to diagnose basic hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Support user account administration and access management.
• Assist with system upgrades and software installations.
