Job summary

Catholic Education Services in the Diocese of Cairns is inviting applicants for an IT Technical Support Officer based at Newman Catholic College Smithfield and St Monica's College Cairns. The role provides day-to-day service desk support for staff and students and mentors non-technical users.

Applicants should have strong customer service, good communication skills, and be willing to travel to school sites. A Working with Children Blue Card and a current driver's licence are required.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional approach
• High interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage routine and reactive tasks
• Professional presentation suitable for a front‑facing support role

About the Role

The Information Technology (IT) Technical Support Officer role provides technology support to Secondary Colleges in the Cairns region. The position will be based at Newman Catholic College Smithfield and St Monica's College Cairns.

The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, patient, and professional user assistance and mentorship, particularly to non-technical users.

Responsibilities include day to day service desk support for staff and students, along with support to other equipment such as AV, printers and other collaborative technologies.

Essential Requirements

• Hold a Working with Children Blue Card
