Job summary

Catholic Education - Diocese of Rockhampton (CEDR) is hiring a Technology Officer to support ICT services across Western Region primary schools, based at St Brigid's Catholic Primary School, Emerald. The role requires delivering high-quality IT support with autonomy to prioritise tasks and manage IT operations.

The successful applicant will work on security, network administration, asset lifecycle, and collaboration with school leadership on IT budgeting and projects.

Your Role

We are seeking experienced applicants for the position of Technology Officer to provide service and support to the Western Region primary schools. This is a full-time continuing position (38hpw) for an immediate commencement or as negotiated with the successful applicant. This position will be based at St Brigid's Catholic Primary School, Emerald and travel to other Western region schools will be required from time to time.

The role presents an opportunity to provide high-quality ICT support services, while working with a high level of autonomy to manage priorities, resolve issues and support IT operations. The successful applicant will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in information technology security, network administration, and the delivery of responsive and effective technical support to end users.

They will possess strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience managing the procurement, deployment, lifecycle maintenance and replacement of ICT assets and equipment. The successful applicant will be able to maintain secure and reliable technology environments, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and provide high-quality customer service in support of schools.

Typical Duties Performed Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Practice confidentiality in relation to all aspects of the role
  • Apply a range of technical and other skills to undertake tasks that may include:
    • Assist with systems analysis and design in relation to the development and maintenance of ICT systems and services
    • Investigate malfunction in operational programs and services, and liaise with service owners to resolve, test and remediate issues
  • Manage the installation and maintenance of IT services in the school
  • Maintain a register of computer hardware and software including accurate information about the allocation of items to users or locations
  • Provide support and assistance to school leadership with developing the school budget in regard to IT, including device procurement, and technology related projects for the school and strategic plans to meet short and long term ICT goals of the school.

Mandatory Requirements
