Job summary

Community Enterprise Queensland (CEQ) seeks an IT Support Officer to keep hardware, software and networks operating across remote Torres Strait communities and Cairns. You will troubleshoot, install and maintain IT systems, travelling as needed to support stores and offices.

The role supports a busy Corporate Services team, with emphasis on safety, cross-cultural collaboration, and delivering reliable IT services in regional areas.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as IT Support Officer required.
• Current Queensland driver’s license.
• Tertiary IT qualification desirable.
• ITIL/MS certifications desirable.
• Experience supporting desktops, servers, laptops and VOIP.
• Willingness to travel to Torres Strait and other outlets.
• Comfort working in cross-cultural environments.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Level 1 IT requests via phone, email, and ticket system.
• Log incidents and service requests accurately.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers.
• Assist with software install and updates.
• Troubleshoot connectivity: Wi‑Fi, LAN, VPN.
• Provide user guidance and training on IT issues.
• Escalate complex problems to Level 2/3 or vendors.
• Maintain IT asset records and licenses.
• Update knowledge base and user guides.
• Monitor WHS compliance and safe workplace practices.
• Perform other duties as required by Senior Leadership.
