Job summary

Telco ICT Group in Chadstone, VIC, is seeking a Project Engineer for a full-time, on-site role. You will own delivery end-to-end for multi-site client engagements, from audit findings and scope through build, cutover and handover to support.

Responsibilities include configuring Microsoft 365/Azure migrations, security uplift, firewall and network deployments (Fortinet, Meraki, Sophos), server/virtualisation refreshes and SD-WAN.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in an MSP or IT consulting environment with at least 2 years delivering projects.
• Experience leading Microsoft 365 / Azure migrations end-to-end.
• Hands-on installation experience with Fortinet, Meraki and Sophos; industry certifications preferred.
• Experience with Windows Server, Hyper‑V/VMware and Linux including patching and remediation.
• Strong networking fundamentals: routing, switching, firewalls and VPN technologies.
• Client-facing role requiring clear written documentation and communication skills.
• Certifications such as MS-102, AZ-104, SC-300, MD-102 are highly regarded.
• Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites across Melbourne.

• Produce project documentation: designs, runbooks, change plans, as‑builts and client handover packs.
• Run client project meetings, provide status reporting, and manage risks, changes and vendor coordination.
• Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for projects delivered during warranty.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located around Chadstone, VIC, for a Project Engineer. Our project pipeline has grown on the back of multi-site client engagements, and we need an engineer who owns delivery end to end — from the audit findings and scope through to build, cutover, documentation and handover to our support team.

You will take on projects such as Microsoft 365 and Azure migrations and tenant remediation, security uplift (Conditional Access, Intune/MDM, Defender, backup), firewall and network deployments (Fortinet, Meraki, Sophos), server and virtualisation refreshes, SharePoint migrations and file-server decommissioning, and phone system / SD-WAN rollouts. You'll run several projects at once, work directly with client stakeholders, and keep scope, timelines and budgets on track alongside our Solution Architect and GM.

• Hands‑on installation experience with Fortinet, Meraki and Sophos; industry certifications preferred
• Professional experience with Windows Server, Hyper‑V/VMware and Linux, including patching and vulnerability remediation
• Strong networking fundamentals: routing, switching, firewalls and VPN technologies
• Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects, scope and client expectations — a client‑facing role, so you need to enjoy talking to clients
• Clear written documentation and communication skills across clients, vendors and internal teams
• Relevant certifications highly regarded: MS-102, AZ-104, SC-300, MD-102
• Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel to client sites across Melbourne
