Job summary

Appentency Recruitment Services in Melbourne is seeking a Project Engineer to bridge the gap between technical architecture and client handover. You will deploy, configure, and migrate complex IT environments (Azure, Microsoft 365) and work with senior staff to deliver solutions on time and to the highest standards.

The role emphasizes practical delivery, strong stakeholder communication, and collaboration within a Managed Services context.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on project delivery experience in MSP or IT consulting.
• Strong technical execution across Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows Server migrations.
• Excellent time-management and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience with end-to-end IT infrastructure deployments and cloud migrations.
• Familiarity with Autotask, N-Able, ITGlue/SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Scope and deliver projects from planning to post-migration support.
• Take ownership of technical delivery outcomes for projects of all sizes.
• Perform seamless cloud migrations to Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot networking hardware and virtualization platforms.
• Collaborate with Architects and Senior Engineers to translate designs into reality.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and handovers.
• Engage with clients throughout deployment to manage expectations and adoption.

About the role

Stepping into the role of Project Engineer,you will be the driving force that bridges the gap between initial technicalarchitecture and successful client handover. You will be actively responsiblefor deploying, configuring, and migrating complex IT environments (heavilyfocused on the Microsoft stack, Azure, and modern networking). Working closelywith senior technical staff, you will ensure that customized solutions areexecuted flawlessly, on time, and to the highest technical standards.

Must haves for the role:

• Proven, hands-on project delivery experience,ideally within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or IT consultingenvironment.
• Strong technical execution skills acrossMicrosoft 365, Azure, and Windows Server migrations.

Role andResponsibilities:

The role will require you to scope and deliverproject and uplift the standardization and efficiencies in project delivery.

• Take ownership of technical deliveryoutcomes of projects (large or small)
• Execute end-to-end IT infrastructure deployments, from technicalstaging and client implementation through to post-migration support.
• Performseamless cloud migrations, focusing on transitioning on-premise clientenvironments into Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Deploy,configure, and troubleshoot networking hardware (switches, routers, firewalls)and virtualisation platforms (VMware / Hyper-V).
• Collaborateclosely with Solutions Architects and Senior Project Engineers to translatehigh-level scoping designs into functional technical realities.
• Create,update, and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including"as-built" diagrams and detailed technical handovers for the BAUService Desk team.
• Engagedirectly with clients throughout the deployment lifecycle, providing cleartechnical updates, managing expectations, and ensuring successful systemadoption.

Experienceand Skills Requirements:

• Executeend-to-end IT infrastructure deployments, from technical staging and client implementation through to post-migration support.
• Performseamless cloud migrations, focusing on transitioning on-premise client environments into Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Deploy,configure, and troubleshoot networking hardware (switches, routers,firewalls) and virtualisation platforms (VMware / Hyper-V).
• Create,update, and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including"as-built" diagrams and detailed technical handovers for the BAUService Desk team.
• Engagedirectly with clients throughout the deployment lifecycle, providing cleartechnical updates, managing expectations, and ensuring successful systemadoption.
• Experience taking escalations fromservice desk and mentoring service desk
• Service ticketing systems experience(preferably Autotask)
• Remote monitoring & managementsystems experience (preferably N-Able)
• Documentation systems experience(preferably ITGlue, Sharepoint)
• Project delivery experience across:
• Microsoft Public Cloud environments(Azure, Modern Workplace/M365, VD)
• Infrastructure hardware (servers,storage, UPS)
• Microsoft Server operating systems(including AD, DHCP, DNS, RAS, RDSH, GPOs)
• Microsoft Office suite
• Networking experience (TCP/IP, LAN/WANconnection troubleshooting, DNS, firewalls, NAT rules)
