Job description

As an IT Operations Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the reliable, secure and efficient operation of Ord Minnett's technology environment. Working closely with the IT Operations Manager, you will coordinate day-to-day IT operations across service delivery, endpoint management, identity and access administration, security practices, change management, documentation, reporting and vendor engagement.

Acting as a key link between the business and our Managed Services Provider (MSP), you will help ensure incidents, service requests and operational activities are delivered effectively and to a high standard. You will monitor progress, coordinate follow-up actions, maintain operational documentation, support governance activities and help drive a positive experience for end users across the firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional looking to broaden their operational capability, gain exposure to a wide range of technologies and processes and contribute to the ongoing maturity of a complex technology environment.

About You:

You are a proactive and detail-oriented IT professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and ensuring operational activities are delivered to a high standard. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities effectively, and take ownership of your work from start to finish.

With strong organisational and communication skills, you build positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and technology partners alike. You are comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams, and you take a structured, methodical approach to troubleshooting, coordination and follow-through. Most importantly, you are service-focused, dependable and committed to delivering a great experience for end users.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Coordinate day-to-day IT operations, ensuring incidents, service requests and operational activities are progressed, communicated and resolved effectively.
  • Act as the primary liaison with managed service providers (MSPs) and technology vendors, monitoring service delivery, tracking actions and escalating issues where required.
  • Support endpoint and device management activities, including hardware refreshes, software deployments, patching, compliance monitoring and technology rollouts.
  • Assist with user onboarding, offboarding, access management and MFA processes, ensuring activities align with security and governance requirements.
  • Coordinate remediation activities relating to security, operational risk and compliance, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Support change management and release activities, including planning, communications, implementation tracking, testing and post-implementation review.
  • Maintain high-quality operational documentation, procedures, knowledge articles and audit-ready records to support effective service delivery.
  • Provide clear and professional communication to users and stakeholders, promoting a customer-focused approach while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Key Attributes:
  • Positive attitude, honest and reliable.
  • Self-directed, motivated and a strong work ethic.
  • Efficient time management and organisation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce a high standard of work under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
Skills & Experience:
  • 2-5 years' experience in IT support, service delivery, IT operations or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Windows environments, identity and access management, MFA, security controls and endpoint management technologies.
  • Experience working with ITSM platforms, managed service providers (MSPs), vendors and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Well-developed organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to support users and drive outcomes effectively.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, Defender, change management processes, audits, access reviews and IT service management frameworks such as ITIL.
  • Experience within financial services or another regulated industry is advantageous.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline are desirable.
