IT Field Engineer — On-Site Enterprise Tech Support

Job summary

Origin Energy is seeking an IT Field Engineer to provide hands-on technology support across Origin’s Integrated Gas assets in Queensland. You will own end-to-end technology issues, covering end-user computing, Microsoft 365, mobility, networking and meeting-room technology at site locations in the Surat Basin.

You’ll collaborate with specialist teams and vendors, maintain documentation, and contribute to incident response.

Qualifications

• Experience providing hands-on technology or service-delivery support within a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of end-user technology, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and networking fundamentals, including DNS and DHCP.
• Experience managing incidents and service requests through ServiceNow or a similar IT service-management platform.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise work based on operational impact.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with a strong commitment to delivering a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve technology incidents and service requests, ensuring agreed service levels are met.
• Coordinate hardware and software installations, moves, additions and changes across site locations.
• Support laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers, Microsoft 365, virtual desktops and audio-visual and video-conferencing technology.
• Assist network and operational technology teams with site infrastructure, control-network and SCADA-related issues when required.
• Maintain technical documentation, identify service improvements and support technology projects and third-party vendors working at site.
• Participate in major-incident response, helping assess business impacts, restore services and coordinate testing with the local user community.
