Job summary

Origin Energy seeks an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to live and work in the Maranoa region on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off roster. You will maintain and troubleshoot critical field equipment supporting safe and reliable energy production, within Origin's Integrated Gas team.

You will apply your electrical and instrumentation expertise close to home, in a safety‑driven culture focused on collaboration and continuous improvement. A strong liability to safety and asset integrity is essential.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician and Instrumentation & Control qualifications.
  • Experience maintaining electrical and instrumentation equipment in oil & gas.
  • Hazardous Area (EEHA/HAZ Area) certification and exposure to regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot critical electrical and instrumentation equipment across gas assets.
  • Support commissioning, preventative maintenance and reliability activities.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure safe and reliable operations.

About the role:

Live and work in the Maranoa region while enjoying a genuine lifestyle roster of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. As an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician with Origin's Integrated Gas team, you'll play a hands-on role maintaining and troubleshooting critical field equipment that supports safe and reliable energy production. This is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise close to home, within a team that values safety, collaboration and continuous improvement.

The safe and reliable operation of our gas assets depends on the performance of critical electrical and instrumentation systems. You'll be a key contributor to maintaining asset integrity, minimising downtime and ensuring equipment performs when it's needed most.

  • Work a balanced 2/2 lifestyle roster while staying connected to the Maranoa community.
  • Maintain, test and troubleshoot critical electrical and instrumentation equipment across operational gas assets.
  • Support commissioning, preventative maintenance and reliability improvement activities.
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture through permit-to-work, JSA and hazardous area practices.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to deliver safe, efficient and reliable operations.
What will you bring?
  • Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician and a current Queensland Electrical Licence.
  • Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control or an equivalent instrumentation trade qualification.
  • Experience maintaining and fault-finding electrical and instrumentation equipment within the oil and gas industry.
  • Hazardous Area (EEHA/HAZ Area) certification and experience working in regulated environments.
  • Exposure to high voltage systems, with HV qualifications or operational experience highly regarded.
