Job summary

The Onset Group in Sydney is seeking an IT Change Manager for APAC to govern IT changes with decisive authority. You will collaborate across APAC, Amsterdam and Chicago to strengthen controls, drive automation, and support audit readiness in a DevOps/Agile environment.

You will lead APAC change reviews, chair the APAC CAB, assess risk, and contribute to global process improvements while providing incident and problem management support. This role is hybrid with three days in the Sydney office.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of IT service management experience including hands-on change management.
• Experience supporting incident and problem management is a plus.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and strong communication with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead APAC change reviews and CAB meetings and approve/defer/reject changes based on risk.
• Chair the APAC Change Advisory Board and approve technology changes, including emergencies.
• Assess risk, readiness and potential business impact with tech teams and stakeholders.
• Improve change management processes with global counterparts.
• Deliver change performance reporting and support audit requirements.
• Provide rostered secondary support for major incidents and post-incident reviews.

The opportunity

Join a global clearing company in an IT Change Manager role combining operational change management with governance, controls and continuous improvement.With approximately 20–30 changes across APAC each week, your contribution will extend beyond approvals and CAB meetings. You’ll work with colleagues across APAC, Amsterdam and Chicago to strengthen controls, support audit readiness and develop more consistent global processes.

Your responsibilities

• Lead APAC change reviews and CAB meetings, approving, deferring or rejecting changes based on risk and readiness.
• Chair the APAC Change Advisory Board and review and approve technology changes, including emergency changes.
• Assess change risk, readiness and potential business impact with technology teams and stakeholders.
• Improve change management processes in collaboration with global counterparts.
• Deliver change performance reporting, maintain control evidence and support audit requirements.
• Provide rostered secondary support to the primary major incident contact, support post‑incident reviews and problem management, helping coordinate recovery and stakeholder communications when required.
• Monitor controls, prepare reporting and support audit and regulatory enquiries.
• Improve ServiceNow workflows and help evolve change management towards greater automation within a DevOps and Agile environment.

About you

You’ll bring around three to five years of relevant IT service management experience, including hands‑on IT change management and experience supporting incident and problem management.

You’ll also have:

• Knowledge of ITIL processes and experience with ServiceNow.
• Clear communication skills across technical teams and senior stakeholders.
• The judgement and confidence to make independent decisions.
• A collaborative, adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and contribute across the team.
• Financial services experience is advantageous.

Working arrangements

You’ll attend the Sydney office three days a week. Global collaboration means occasional early morning or late evening calls, alongside rostered secondary incident cover. Flexibility is required, although routinely excessive hours are not the expectation.
