Job summary

City of Greater Geelong is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Inventory and Procurement Officer to manage stock, ordering, receiving, storage and tracking for council operations in Geelong. You will maintain accurate records, monitor stock levels and support cost-effective, compliant supply chain processes while providing timely service to internal departments and the community.

Knowledge of purchasing processes, ability to learn new systems, and relevant training or courses are required; forklift

Qualifications

• Experience in a stores or inventory environment.
• Ability to learn new processes and systems on the job.
• Relevant training or courses completed.
• National Police Check required as part of recruitment.
• Pre-employment medical assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out tasks in stores, ensuring customer and community satisfaction.
• Understanding of purchasing processes, procurement principles, and the associated administrative requirements to achieve best value outcomes.
• Ability to use computers including both stores and purchasing related software.
• Provide timely customer service and procurement support to meet operational needs.
• Complete deliveries and collections safely, accurately, and on time.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and well-maintained stores facilities, equipment, and inventory.
