Job summary

O’Brien is seeking an Inventory Controller at Padstow Head Office, with a planned move to the Badgerys Creek National Distribution Centre in 2027. The role focuses on improving stock availability across the national network and supporting supplier relationships.

Based in Sydney's Padstow, you will manage purchase orders, forecast accuracy, and data reporting while contributing to continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory management with a focus on stock availability.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy; excellent communication.
• Ability to prioritise, multitask and work independently.
• MS Word & Excel proficiency; automotive knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and process purchase orders (weekly, fortnightly, monthly).
• Manage national & international suppliers.
• Validate invoices and maintain accurate PO records.
• Coordinate container deliveries, packing lists and shipping documents.
• Review forecasts and maintain forecast accuracy.
• Monitor PTD sales, adjust forecasts and manage danger stock.
• Issue monthly supplier performance reports.
• Support branches with product availability enquiries.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and waste reduction.

O’Brien® is looking for a proactive Inventory Controller to support our supplier network, improve stock availability and strengthen our internal supply chain.

This role is based at our Padstow Head Office, with a future relocation to our NEW Badgerys Creek National Distribution Centre in 2027 — a modern, purpose‑built facility designed for long‑term growth.

What you’ll be doing

• Create and process purchase orders (weekly, fortnightly, monthly)
• Manage national & international suppliers
