Job summary

Optus is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Manager in Macquarie Park, Sydney. You will governance and continuously improve inventory processes across enterprise locations, balancing stock accuracy, compliance and operational efficiency.

You will lead a blended team of permanent and contract Inventory Controllers, coordinating with technology, logistics and field partners to ensure stock availability for network operations and continuity.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience in inventory control across multiple locations.
• Experience with third-party logistics providers, distribution centres, contractors or field partners.
• Strong understanding of stock movements, reconciliation, cycle counting, variance management.
• Experience implementing or improving ERP/WMS workflows, controls and reporting.
• Proven ability to improve inventory accuracy, data quality and operational visibility.
• Demonstrated leadership of a blended team of permanent staff and contractors.
• Strong analytical, planning and stakeholder management skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end inventory management across Optus-controlled and partner locations.
• Establish and maintain consistent inventory control standards and procedures.
• Govern receipts, issues, transfers, returns, repairs, disposals and adjustments with proper authorization.
• Drive improvements in accuracy, stock visibility and record integrity.
• Lead cycle counting, reconciliation and exception management; investigate variances.
• Plan and coordinate annual stocktake programs with scope and resources.
• Lead adoption and continuous improvement of inventory processes, systems and reporting.
• Manage a blended team of permanent staff and contractors; build stakeholder relationships.
