Job summary

Head Medical in Central Queensland is seeking an Interventional Cardiologist to join a rapidly expanding cardiology service based at Rockhampton Hospital. The role encompasses both clinical practice and service development within a modern regional cardiac centre.

You will provide interventional and general cardiology services, including PCI, inpatient care, outpatient clinics, and on-call duties, with teaching and research opportunities as the service grows.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• FRACP or overseas qualification.
• Interventional cardiology training aligned with CSANZ guidelines.
• Experience in PCI and interventional cardiology services.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary team skills.
• Interest in teaching, research and clinical governance.
• Experience in Cardiac CT/MRI or non-surgical interventional centres is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventional and general cardiology services.
• Coronary care and inpatient cardiology.
• Outpatient clinics.
• Cardiac catheterisation laboratory sessions.
• On-call and weekend cardiology roster participation.
• Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff.
• Contribution to clinical governance, audit and quality improvement.
• Involvement in research and service development initiatives.
