Job summary

Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service in Rockhampton is seeking a Specialist Cardiologist to lead an expanding interventional cardiology program. The role focuses on PCI-driven care across the CCU, ward, clinics and cath lab, with involvement in establishing a new regional service.

The position offers responsibilities in clinical leadership, education and governance, contributing to the development of a regional cardiac centre of excellence.

Qualifications

• Specialist Cardiologist with contemporary interventional cardiology experience.
• Experience with PCI and participation in primary PCI services is required.
• Willingness to help establish and develop a new interventional service for the region.

Responsibilities

• Deliver General and Interventional Cardiology across the Coronary Care Unit, Cardiology Ward, outpatient clinics and Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory.
• Help establish Rockhampton Hospital's new Interventional Cardiology service.
• Shape models of care, clinical pathways and future interventional capability across the region.
• Contribute to clinical leadership, governance, quality improvement and service development.
• Participate in teaching, supervision and professional development of registrars and junior staff.
• Work across a broad regional referral service as Rockhampton Hospital develops as a regional cardiac centre of excellence.
