Job summary

Breeze Logistics Australia Pty Ltd in Melbourne seeks an Interstate Freight Co-Ordinator to lead planning, coordination and execution of all inbound and outbound interstate freight movements, with a strong focus on refrigerated line haul operations and cost control.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership experience in transport or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of refrigerated transport and interstate line haul loading.
• Proven experience coordinating freight movements and resolving operational issues.
• Excellent organizational, planning, communication and negotiation skills.
• Intermediate Excel and ability to interpret operational reports.
• Understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirements.

The Interstate Freight Co-Ordinator will play a key leadership role in the planning, coordination, and execution of all inbound and outbound interstate freight movements. This position requires a strong understanding of refrigerated line haul operations, freight loading strategies, transport costs, and operational planning. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, drivers, and internal teams to maximise efficiency, maintain high service standards, and achieve operational and financial objectives. You will also support local transport operations, ensuring daily collections and deliveries run smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all inbound and outbound interstate freight movements.
• Plan and manage refrigerated line haul loading to maximise vehicle utilisation, efficiency, and profitability.
• Negotiate and coordinate freight movements with transport providers and suppliers.
• Monitor daily operations and proactively resolve service issues, delays, and operational challenges.
• Lead, support, and motivate team members to achieve operational targets.
• Coordinate team meetings, establish clear actions, and follow through on agreed outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with the Local Operations team to improve service delivery and operational performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, transport providers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

About you

• A minimum of 3 years' leadership experience within the transport and logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of refrigerated transport and interstate line haul loading.
• Proven experience coordinating freight movements, managing daily operations, and resolving operational issues.
• Excellent organisational, planning, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to prepare and interpret operational reports.
• A sound understanding of relevant transport legislation, compliance requirements, and operating procedures.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate a team, encourage accountability, and drive change.
• Commercial awareness, including an understanding of freight costs, vehicle utilisation, and profitability.
• The ability to think creatively, prioritise competing demands, and respond effectively to changing operational requirements.
