Job summary

Frontier Fire Design is seeking an intermediate Fire Protection Designer to take ownership of projects, advance technical knowledge and engage in coordination with clients and consultants. You will work on sprinkler, hydrant and hose reel systems from early design through to as-built documentation, using AutoCAD, Revit and BIM tools.

You’ll collaborate with a small, growing specialist team, review drawings, perform hydraulic considerations and contribute to project decisions while developing

Qualifications

• Experience in wet fire system design and ability to interpret architectural/services drawings.
• Strong coordination and communication with clients and project teams.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit for design documentation.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify coordination issues.

Responsibilities

• Design fire sprinkler, hydrant and hose reel systems.
• Prepare coordinated design and construction documentation.
• Work with AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam and review related drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and participate in meetings.
• Assist with hydraulic calculations and RFIs.

Intermediate Fire Protection Designer – Take the Next Step in Your Career

Frontier Fire Design is looking for an intermediate Fire Protection Designer who is ready to challenge themselves, take greater ownership of projects and progress their career. This opportunity would suit a designer who already has experience in wet fire systems and wants to move beyond simply producing drawings. You will be supported to strengthen your technical knowledge, develop your project-management skills and become more involved in coordination, client communication and design decision-making. You will work across a range of projects involving fire sprinkler, hydrant and hose reel systems—from early design development through to construction and as-built documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Designing fire sprinkler, hydrant and hose reel systems
• Preparing coordinated design and construction documentation
• Working in AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam
• Reviewing architectural, structural and building-services drawings
• Coordinating fire services with other disciplines
• Participating in project and coordination meetings
• Preparing RFIs and resolving design issues
• Undertaking or assisting with hydraulic calculations
• Reviewing relevant Australian Standards and project requirements
• Managing drawing revisions and document control

About you

• Understands sprinkler, hydrant and hose reel system requirements
• Can read and interpret architectural and services documentation
• Has experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Has strong attention to detail
