• Review designs for compliance with standards and NCC; mentor junior engineers.
• Support growth of the Fire Protection capability within the team.

I’m working with a growing, well-regarded multidisciplinary building services consultancy in Sydney looking to appoint a Senior/Fire Protection Engineer to its team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of fire protection design but also wants more ownership, direct client exposure and the opportunity to play a key role within a growing team.

Candidates from Engineerthrough to Principal level will be considered.

The Role

You’ll work across a varied portfolio of building projects, taking responsibility for fire protection design and delivery from concept through to construction.

Depending on your experience, responsibilities will include:

• Design and documentation of fire protection systems
• Sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel and associated fire services design
• Preparing calculations, specifications and technical documentation
• Coordinating with other building services disciplines, architects and project stakeholders
• Managing projects and maintaining strong client relationships
• Attending design, coordination and site meetings
• Reviewing designs and ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and the NCC
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
• Supporting the continued growth of the Fire Protection capability

For Principal-level candidates, there is scope to take a broader role across technical leadership, client management, mentoring and business development.

About You

To be considered, you’ll ideally have:

• 3+ years’ Fire Protection Engineering experience
• Previous experience within an Australian building services consultancy
• Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards and NCC requirements
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• The ability to work autonomously while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
