Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking a Child and Family Case Worker for the Intensive Family Support Service in Toowoomba. You will lead case management for vulnerable families, delivering therapeutic in‑home support and developing collaborative plans to keep children safe.

The role involves working with complex cases, planning referrals to specialist services, and engaging families to achieve goals. A Bachelor’s degree and Blue Card are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or Human Services.
• Minimum of 2 years’ case management and child protection experience.
• Knowledge of Domestic Family Violence and its impact on children.
• Understanding of First Nations peoples, culture and society and related issues.
• Knowledge of Attachment Theory and trauma‑informed practice.
• Current QLD Blue Card.

Responsibilities

• Lead case management with families in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
• Provide a mix of therapeutic and in‑home practical support.
• Develop collaborative case plans and prioritise presenting concerns.
• Refer families to specialist support services as needed.
