Job summary

UnitingCare’s FaDS team in Gladstone is seeking a Child and Family Case Worker to lead in-home case management for families with complex needs. The role involves therapeutic support and coordinating services to keep children safe, with weekly visits over up to 12 months.

You'll work in a fast-paced environment requiring collaboration, assessment, and planning with families. A relevant degree, two years’ experience, and a Queensland Working with Children Check are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, human services, psychology or related discipline preferred.
• Diploma in related field with at least two years’ Case Worker experience.
• At least two years’ experience in case management and child protection.
• Knowledge of domestic and family violence and its impact on children.
• Understanding of First Nations peoples and cultures, including related issues.
• Commitment to culturally safe practice and attachment/trauma-informed care.
• Current Queensland Working with Children Check or Blue Card.
• Current open Queensland driver’s licence.
• Eligibility to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide a combination of therapeutic support and practical in-home assistance to vulnerable families with complex needs.
• Actively engage with families, complete assessments and develop collaborative case plans.
• Support families to access appropriate specialist services.
