Job summary

AXA XL in Sydney, Australia is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the local finance team in a hybrid working model. You will manage APRA submissions, ICAAP, tax compliance, country-by-country reporting and support reinsurance management under the guidance of the Head of Finance.

The role requires strong leadership, deep regulatory knowledge, and proven financial analysis with the ability to work across functions in a dynamic insurer environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• CA/CPA designation preferred.
• Experience with APRA/ASIC/regulatory reporting and statutory accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead APRA regulatory submissions and ICAAP reporting.
• Monitor statutory profitability and underwriting results.
• Oversee tax returns and submissions with external advisors.
• Support CFO with management of reinsurance arrangements.
