Job summary

Challenger Limited, an ASX-listed investment management firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant in Sydney to lead financial control and reporting for a group of entities. The role focuses on month-end close, reconciliations and consolidation entries within a dynamic Life Insurance and Investments team.

You will investigate anomalies, trace data origins, and understand data flows through interconnected systems, with hybrid working arrangements and a focus on accuracy and governance.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in statutory reporting and financial statement preparation.
• Ability to trace data from source systems to the GL and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and consolidation entries.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and disclosures for ASX reporting.
• Investigate variances by tracing source data and system flows; identify root causes.
• Lead on complex accounting matters with evidence-based conclusions.
• Communicate findings clearly to auditors and internal teams.
