Job summary

Red Cliffs Secondary College invites applications for a 2027 Classroom Science Teacher (Ongoing / Full-Time) to deliver engaging science programs across Years 7–10 aligned with the Victorian Curriculum. The successful applicant will teach across Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth & Environmental Science and contribute to a high-performing learning culture.

Experience teaching senior secondary science is highly desirable, with preference for VCE Science subjects.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach across multiple science disciplines.
• Experience planning high quality teaching that supports student growth.
• Ability to monitor and assess student learning using data and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and staff.
• Willingness to reflect on practice and engage in ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality science programs aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and VCE Study Designs.
• Teach Science across Years 7-10, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth & Environmental Science.
• Demonstrate flexibility to teach across science disciplines and differentiate for diverse learners.
• Use assessment data to inform planning and improve student outcomes.
• Integrate literacy, numeracy and critical thinking into science teaching.
• Teach VCE Science subjects as required and prepare students for SACs and exams.
• Contribute to curriculum development, moderation and school improvement initiatives.
• Build positive relationships to support student wellbeing and engagement.
• Participate in professional learning and collaborative planning with teams.
