Job summary

HCF is seeking an experienced BI/Data Analytics professional for a 12-month max-term role in Sydney. You will build insights using Tableau and SQL, aligning with business needs and driving data literacy across teams.

You will consult with stakeholders, deliver self-serve reporting, and integrate digital data with our data warehouse to support decision-making. The role requires strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a quantitative or numerate discipline.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to derive insights and recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with business stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• At least 5+ years of experience in BI, analytics or data science.
• Experience in Tableau is a must.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL, data warehouse principles, ETL processes and visualization best practices.
• Experience working with large, complex data sets from diverse sources.

Responsibilities

• Build and provide insights across business areas.
• Develop subject matter expertise in the business area you work with.
• Consult with business users to answer data questions.
• Provide rapid answers to business questions using queries and visualisations.
• Support ad hoc data requests across business areas.
• Integrate digital data with warehouse to develop actionable insights.
• Build customer segmentation analytics and campaign performance reporting.
• Set up monitoring and alerting to identify data issues.
• Identify new ways to provide insights and promote data literacy.
• Design and build reporting data models to support self-serve reporting.
• Provide specialist knowledge of data elements to drive adoption and self-service.
• Extract and profile data to understand structure, quality and completeness.
• Validate data through reconciliation that it is correct.
• Analyse, model, interpret, and enhance datasets for the wider business.
• Apply independent judgement in creating new data solutions for business questions.
• Manage multiple BAU and ad-hoc activities to deliver high-quality outputs on time.
