Job summary

Halcyon Knights is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer for a 6-month fixed-term contract in Sydney, primarily onsite with some WFH flexibility. The role offers up to $150k plus super pro rata and ASAP start.

You will own data quality improvements across a Microsoft data environment, investigate issues, troubleshoot SQL and pipelines, and deliver practical solutions in collaboration with business stakeholders. Experience with Power BI and governance tools is valued.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on SQL and pipeline troubleshooting skills.
• Practical experience in data quality, profiling and validation.
• Power BI experience, including DAX and data modelling.
• Proven end-to-end delivery and strong stakeholder communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Driver’s licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve data quality issues across datasets and pipelines
• Review SQL and transformation logic to identify underlying problems
• Implement data profiling, validation and quality monitoring
• Support Microsoft Purview implementation and governance activities
• Develop Power BI reports and dashboards
• Gather business requirements and document solutions for handover
