Job summary

NSW Reconstruction Authority is seeking a Clerk 9/10 to support disaster recovery infrastructure projects and act as a technical liaison between councils, state agencies and the Authority. The role emphasizes funding guidance, on-site technical support during disasters and capacity-building with local governments across NSW.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, construction management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience in infrastructure delivery or disaster recovery.
• Experience in managing infrastructure projects, including planning, prioritisation, and funding.
• Experience in working with local governments to support disaster recovery, preparedness, or routine infrastructure delivery.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and address complex technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Support NSW communities to recover and build resilience through critical infrastructure recovery projects.
• Serve as the main technical liaison between councils, state agencies and the Authority.
• Provide advice for disaster recovery projects by guiding councils through infrastructure funding processes and delivering on-site technical support during disaster events.
• Provide technical guidance to councils for identifying and preparing infrastructure funding claims under Category B of the DRFA program.
• Attend Emergency Operations Centres and regional emergency management committees as the infrastructure contact for councils.
• Resolve technical challenges in disaster recovery projects by liaising with councils, agencies and internal teams.
• Monitor council capacity for disaster-related construction projects and provide feedback for capacity-building initiatives.
• Contribute to infrastructure recovery reporting and program tracking to align with broader reconstruction objectives.
