Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice in Sydney is seeking four Senior Reconstruction Coordination Officers to support disaster recovery and infrastructure delivery. You will act as a technical liaison between councils, state agencies and the NSW Reconstruction Authority, delivering funding-informed projects across NSW.

These roles offer hybrid work arrangements, flexible locations, and a salary range of AUD 133,348 to AUD 146,945 plus super.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, construction management, or equivalent experience in infrastructure delivery or disaster recovery.
• Experience managing infrastructure projects, including planning, prioritisation and funding.
• Experience working with local governments on disaster recovery or routine infrastructure delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support NSW communities to recover and build resilience through critical infrastructure projects.
• Act as liaison between councils, state agencies and the NSW Reconstruction Authority.
• Provide guidance on infrastructure funding claims under DRFA Category B and funding processes.
• Attend Emergency Operations Centres and local/regional emergency management committees.
• Monitor council capacity and contribute to reporting and program tracking.
• Resolve technical challenges by coordinating with councils, agencies and internal teams.
