Job summary

IUIH Institute for Urban Indigenous Health in Morayfield, QLD, is seeking a Wellbeing Support Worker to join the Social Health team in the Moreton Bay region. You will help clients access health and non-health services, liaise with local stakeholders, and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to manage mental health, AOD and wellbeing needs.

Your day-to-day duties include engaging natural supports, promoting clinic services at community events, assisting individuals and families

Qualifications

• Must have a current Criminal History Check.
• Must hold a valid C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
• Must hold a current Working with Children’s Check (Qld Blue Card).
• Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, Mental Health or Community Services; and/or relevant equivalent experience.
• Experience engaging with community groups and individuals.

Responsibilities

• Engage natural supports and networks to complement funded services.
• Promote MATSICHS clinics at events within the North Brisbane catchment.
• Provide support to individuals, families and staff through planning and goals in individual plans.
• Keep updated on service options and promote relevant options to clients.
